Red flags over Jetour’s sudden T1 and T2 payload increases

• Jetour's T1 and T2 SUVs have had their payload capacities uprated to 475kg, inclusive of the driver, from 300kg to 375kg.
• The Automobile Association (AA) of South Africa has questioned how the National Regulator for Compulsory Specifications (NRCS) approved the increase without mechanical, structural or component changes.
• The AA has expressed concerns that the sudden, untested payload capacity increases pose a significant safety risk to T1 and T2 occupants and questioned the validity of local licensing authorities' engagement with the automaker on the issue.
