• Delft recorded 249 carjackings between April 2025 and March 2026, making it the worst-performing precinct in the country over the four quarters combined.
• Delft is a large, densely populated residential area on the Cape Flats, approximately 26 kilometres from Cape Town’s central business district and close to Cape Town International Airport.
• Delft's high number of carjackings is not surprising, given that it is a major destination for wealthy South Africans and foreign buyers, with thousands of US-dollar millionaires calling the city home.
