Top South African university says goodbye to Eskom with 8,500 solar panels
- Nelson Mandela University has installed a 4.4 MW solar photovoltaic (PV) system across all of its campuses.
- The university signed a 10-year renewable electricity agreement with Etana Energy and will source a large amount of its electricity from the supplier.
- The agreement is part of a broader initiative by major electricity users in the Metro to develop collective solutions to the region's energy challenges.
