Money flooding into South African bonds
- South Africa's rand has strengthened to a six-month high against the dollar.
- The auction of government debt attracted the strongest demand in almost three months, with primary dealers placing orders for R14.79 billion of debt.
- The yield on the 2037 bonds fell nine basis points to 8.75%, supporting demand for bonds as investors look toward the mid-term budget due in October.
