One of Eskom’s biggest customers now gets electricity at a discount
- Eskom's biggest customer, Manganese Metal Company (MMC), will pay a discounted electricity rate of R0.62/kWh under the negotiated pricing agreement.
- The agreement is part of NERSA's efforts to support local industries and preserve jobs, with MMC being one of Eskom's top 10 consumers.
- This deal marks the third company to be approved for an NPA with Eskom this year, following ferrochrome producers Samancor Chrome and Glencore-Merafe Chrome Ventures.
