Driving licence card extension in South Africa officially gazetted, with details on what happens to existing cards
- The validity of driving licence cards for code A, Al, B, or EB will be set to 10 years from the date on which it is ordered.
- The changes are part of the department's short- and medium-term goals, with the plan to secure Cabinet approval by March 2027.
- The gazette follows confirmation from Minister in the Presidency Khumbudzo Ntshavheni that Cabinet had approved the extension, beating all targets set by the Transport department earlier this year.
