Major tyre brand invests R1.7 billion in South Africa
- Dunlop Tyres South Africa has invested R1.7 billion in its manufacturing facility in uMnambithi, South Africa, backed by its Japanese parent company Sumitomo Rubber Industries.
- The investment introduced world-class manufacturing technology and expanded the plant's production capabilities to meet growing demand from local vehicle manufacturers, including Toyota, Isuzu, Ford, Volkswagen, and Nissan.
- The South African government has welcomed the investment and plans to review the South African Automotive Masterplan to test its performance against 2035 targets and prepare for the global shift to New Energy Vehicles.
