Here is the expected petrol price for September
- Petrol prices are expected to increase by R0.63-R0.74 per litre and diesel prices by R2.73-R2.89 per litre in September.
- The expected price hikes are attributed to the resurgence of war in the Middle East, which has battered oil markets and led to an under-recovery of R5.50-R8.50 per litre for petrol and diesel since the start of the war.
- The price hikes are likely to remain in place unless a near-term peace deal is reached between the United States and Iran, with oil prices currently trading at $88 a barrel.
