Warning to anyone driving a company car in South Africa
- The Minister of Transport has decided to cancel Traffic Register Number (TRN) certificates that have been dormant for 30 days.
- The decision affects South Africans driving company cars and foreign nationals, who may have obtained TRNs between 1 January 2000 and 30 June 2023, and will be notified through a formal notice on the Department of Transport's official website.
- The cancellation of dormant TRNs aims to prevent abuse of the system, which has been exploited by syndicates, and will require affected individuals to verify their TRNs or apply for new ones.
