Ramaphosa opens the floodgates

• The Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) system has been launched in South Africa, allowing eligible travellers to travel without a traditional visa and expediting boarding times.
• The ETA system is designed to attract more tourists, investors, business travellers, and skilled professionals while enhancing border security, and is currently available at four international airports in South Africa.
• The government plans to expand the ETA technology to land and seaports across the country, and has announced plans to integrate it with electronic airport gates, allowing for faster and more secure processing of travellers.
