Good news for Standard Bank customers in South Africa

• Standard Bank has rolled out Smart ID services to 100 branches in South Africa, as part of a partnership with the Department of Home Affairs.
• The rollout aims to digitalize services and provide access to identity documents in rural and underserved communities, with over 50,000 Smart ID applications processed to date.
• Standard Bank plans to nearly double its Smart ID footprint by the end of 2026 and introduce additional Home Affairs services, including Passport services, banking app integration, and home-delivery services.
