South African town to make a new type of clean fuel for aeroplanes
- South African town Sasolburg will make a new type of clean fuel for aeroplanes through the production of green hydrogen.
- The green hydrogen system at Sasol 1 will be integrated with renewable energy generation, storage, and electrolyser technologies, as per the agreement with Envision Energy.
- The production of eMethanol and eSAF, a sustainable aviation fuel, is expected to reduce carbon emissions and contribute to South Africa's transition to cleaner energy sources.
