• South Africans can now get uncapped internet anywhere in the country from R599 per month, thanks to satellite internet services.
• The service uses a satellite dish to establish a connection to the internet via a geosynchronous Earth orbit (GEO) satellite, with download speeds of up to 5Mbps and upload speeds of up to 3Mbps.
• However, speeds are throttled after 150GB of data consumption, and users can expect significant latency of 700 milliseconds, limiting the service's appeal for heavy internet users.
