SA facing another fuel price shock in October 2026
- Fuel prices for South African motorists could increase further in October 2026, with official prices set to be indicated by the Department of Mineral and Petroleum Resources (DMPR) at the beginning of next month.
- The main reason for the projected increases is oil prices have risen sharply recently, due to the continuing Middle East conflict and decreased petroleum outputs from Moscow, owing by Ukrainian strikes.
- Should current market conditions remain, petrol and diesel could rise to the forecasted amounts at the pumps.
