Warning to people selling illegal medications

A growing number of people selling illegal medications in South Africa have been warned by authorities, with over 1.7 million suspicious products intercepted at borders and 600 complaints reported to the Health Products Regulatory Authority. This alarming trend has prompted the Pharmaceutical Task Group to urge stakeholders to tackle healthcare crime, viewing it as a broader issue that goes beyond the sale of unregistered medicines. The warning comes as the country grapples with a significant public health threat.
