VW Polo Vivo beaten by South Africa’s most affordable electric car in almost every category
- The Geely E2 compact hatchback has sold over 2,500 units in South Africa, making it the best-selling EV in the country.
- The E2 boasts a 5-star Euro NCAP rating due to its range of passive and active safety features, while the Polo Vivo can score no more than 2 stars in the Global NCAP.
- It will take around 4 years for the difference in running costs to offset the premium for the electric car, assuming the current prices of the Polo Vivo and the E2 remain unchanged.
