Motorists are under attack in South Africa

Motorists in South Africa are facing a surge in scams, with scammers using cloned payment portals, SMSes, WhatsApp, and emails to target unsuspecting drivers. The RTIA has warned motorists to exercise caution, advising them to make payments only through verified and approved platforms and to use the 16-digit infringement notice number as a reference. Red flags to watch out for include threats of licence blocks, vehicle licence disc blocks, and further penalties, leaving drivers vulnerable to financial and administrative exploitation.
