R800 million road upgrade for important South African region

A R800 million road upgrade for the N2 Kokstad Interchange has been completed, boasting significant socio-economic benefits for the region. The project, which includes new bridges, road realignment, and access upgrades, is expected to generate substantial economic productivity, with 500 local jobs created and improved quality of life for local communities. The investment also prioritizes underrepresented groups, with R30.1 million allocated to youth-owned companies, R18.5 million to women-owned businesses, and nearly R4 million for people living with disabilities.
