Another blow for DStv in South Africa

Despite a significant revenue boost, Canal+ has struggled to stem the tide of subscriber losses in South Africa, with DStv's subscriber base declining by 589,000 - an 8% drop since 2021. The French media giant's acquisition of MultiChoice in September 2025 for R55 billion had promised to expand its presence in Africa, but so far, the impact has been muted. This decline marks another blow to DStv's fortunes in the country.
