Some good news for petrol prices in South Africa
Good news for motorists in South Africa comes in the form of a reprieve from a proposed fuel levy hike by the Road Accident Fund. Transport Minister Barbara Creecy has blocked the RAF's plan to increase the levy to R3.00 per litre, which would have aimed to stabilise the fund's solvency position. Instead, motorists will face new taxes, including levies on foreign-registered vehicles and motor vehicle registration, to fund the RAF's operations.
