Roads agency that blew R12.8 million wants R3 for every litre of petrol you buy in South Africa
- The Road Accident Fund (RAF) plans to request a R0.75 increase to the RAF levy on fuel, which would bring the tax to R3.00 per litre after it blew R12.8 million on disciplinary hearings.
- The RAF spent the money on disciplinary hearings involving nearly its entire executive team and spent nearly R30 million on salaries for suspended executives.
- The RAF board also proposed a levy for all foreign-registered motor vehicles entering South Africa.
