SA Post Office taken to court

A court has blocked the South African Post Office's planned exit from its business rescue proceedings, dealing a significant setback to the embattled institution. The move, which would have allowed the Post Office to restructure its debt, has been challenged by the Post Office Retirement Fund and Medipos Medical Scheme, citing concerns about the business rescue process's fragility due to liquidity constraints and regulatory uncertainty, ultimately forcing taxpayers to foot a bill of over R321 million for the rescue process.
