BMW launching electric 3-series with 912km range in South Africa
- The second generation of BMW’s fully electric i3, which now forms part of the 3-series, will launch in South Africa in the first quarter of 2027.
- The new i3 features a top-spec 50 xDrive all-wheel-drive model with 345kW of power and 645Nm of torque, a 108.7kWh battery capacity, and a combined WLTP efficiency of 13.4kWh per 100 kilometres.
- If a driver started with the battery at 100%, they would be able to drive at the maximum speed limit between Pretoria and Durban without stopping to charge.
