Bad news for DStv customers in South Africa

• MultiChoice has suspended parts of its DStv Rewards loyalty programme until the end of October 2026 and implemented a permanent change to DStv Coins.
• The change follows MultiChoice’s biggest overhaul of DStv’s packages in years, which took effect on 17 September 2026. Existing DStv Compact customers were migrated to the new Sports package, which retained Compact’s pricing of R399 per month for the streaming-only plan and R479 per month for the decoder-based plan.
• MultiChoice grandfathered the Compact Plus package, meaning new customers can no longer subscribe to it. Existing customers will be upgraded to the new DStv Select package.
