The “Temu Range Rover” taking one of South Africa’s biggest export markets by storm
- The Jaecoo 7 outsold rivals such as the Ford Puma and Kia Sportage in September with more than 10,800 units registered, according to data published Friday by the Society of Motor Manufacturers & Traders.
- The Jaecoo 7, which comes as a combustion-engine car or plug-in hybrid, has earned itself the “Temu Range Rover” nickname on social media for being a cheaper version of the British luxury brand, in a nod to the Chinese discount marketplace.
- Tesla accounted for 4.5% of the UK new-car market in September with almost 16,000 sales.
