Shoprite’s new store taking over South Africa
- Shoprite has announced the opening of its 50th Uniq by Checkers clothing store in Cape Town, as the company continues to expand the brand.
- The company launched its fashion brand in 2023 and has since grown its footprint to eight of South Africa’s provinces, opening 13 new outlets for the fashion brand in the last financial year.
- Shoprite is not the first of South Africa’s retailers to enter the fashion industry, with Woolworths historically being in the segment and Pick n Pay launching Pick n Pay Clothing in 2002.
