Safair sues SAA Technical for R21.1 million over OR Tambo aircraft collision
- FlySafair has filed a R21.1 million damages claim against SAA Technical in the Johannesburg High Court, more than two years after a ground collision at OR Tambo International Airport.
- The incident took place on 11 November 2022, when an Airbus A320 being manoeuvred by a tug vehicle operated by SAA Technical staff broke free and struck a Safair Boeing 737-800 that was stationary in its bay.
- Safair's damages claim is based on projected lost ticket revenue across an estimated 24,070 seats.
