Three universities in South Africa ranked among the best in the world for the first time

For the first time, three universities in South Africa have cracked the top 200 globally, with the University of Cape Town emerging as the country's top-ranked institution at 147th place, narrowly edging out several prominent global universities. The university's steady improvement, from 164th last year, is attributed to its notable scores in teaching quality, research, and innovation, which saw it tie with four other top-ranked universities from Japan, America, and Italy. This milestone marks a significant milestone for South African higher education.
