South African billionaire funding new R341 million precinct in Johannesburg

A R341 million Cultural Precinct in Johannesburg's Braamfontein is set to transform the city's inner city with a major investment in the arts, thanks to a significant donation from South African billionaire Chris Seabrooke. The University of the Witwatersrand, largely funded by Seabrooke's contribution, is spearheading the project, which will create a lifestyle hub for arts, culture, performance, heritage, and creative innovation. The five-year development will integrate Wits' existing facilities, breathing new life into Johannesburg's historic inner city.
